Katie is a partner in the Firm’s Family and Divorce Group. She focuses her practice on all aspects of family law, including divorce and child custody litigation. She regularly appears in probate and district courts on behalf of her clients.
Katie has over a decade of family law experience handling:
- Restraining orders and harassment prevention orders
- Guardianships of minors, disabled individuals and elders, including those involving the rights of grandparents
- Substantial, complicated asset divisions, typically involving trust interests and executive compensation support issues
- Child custody disputes involving domestic violence, child re-unification issues and Guardian ad Litem investigations
- Domestic relations issues effecting LGBTQ individuals
- Out-of-state, multi-jurisdictional cases involving support, custody and guardianship
While attending law school, Katie interned for the Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee, an independent state agency of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court that helps people with mental disabilities protect their rights and obtain appropriate services. She also participated in the Mental Health Law Clinic program and tutored in the Charles Hamilton Houston Enrichment Program. Following law school, Katie served as a judicial law clerk for the justices of the Probate and Family Court in Massachusetts.
Prior to joining Mirick O’Connell, Katie was a partner with Bowditch & Dewey and previously with Lian Zarrow.
