Kevin J. O'Connor, Partner
Kevin is a Chambers USA recognized litigator who represents businesses, officers, directors, and shareholders in disputes involving securities, corporate governance, fiduciary duties, contracts, business torts, and intellectual property. He also conducts internal investigations, represents clients in government investigations, and advises companies and boards on risk-management. As the former general counsel of a biotechnology company, Kevin brings first-hand understanding of a client’s perspective in critical legal matters. He aligns strategy and tactics at every stage of an engagement with his client’s business objectives and works tirelessly to deliver success.

Kevin began his law career as a litigation associate at Ropes & Gray, and was a partner at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault and Hinckley Allen. Most recently, he served as the Vice President and General Counsel of ChemGenes Corporation – a leading manufacturer of ultra-pure synthetic RNA and DNA – after having represented the company for 20 years as its outside counsel. In addition to biotechnology, Kevin has worked extensively with clients in the fields of financial services, information technology, health care, hospitality, cannabis, and renewable energy.

A leader in the Massachusetts legal community for more than 30 years, Kevin has served on the Executive Committee of the Boston Bar Association and Co-Chaired the BBA’s Business Litigation Committee. He has also served as a Director of the New England Legal Foundation and Co-Chaired to Boston Bar Foundation’s John and Abigail Adams Ball, the largest annual fundraiser in Massachusetts in support of legal aid.
